Sounds Of Play

Sounds Of Play

An Early Years musical project is coming to Birmingham and it is going to be evaluated by the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC).

The Birmingham Early Years Music Consortium (BEYMC)  will be running this and aim to help provide a more co-ordinated music delivery for children, bringing together Birmingham EY settings together with a wide range of music organisations.

“Music is much more than performing, it is not just a “subject”,  it is a part of life, and it is intrinsic to human beings.”

“one only has to observe children playing to hear and see the musicality that is interwoven throughout, eg creating rhythmical patterns whilst building with blocks, vocalising in role play and playing with sounds within water play”

This is great news for Lillian de Lissa Nursery School and the BIRMINGHAM FEDERATION OF MAINTAINED NURSERY SCHOOLS as we see every day how positively our children respond to sound, rhythm, beat and music.

Attached is the press release with more project details: Sounds of Play – Press Release
