Soccer Aid @ L.D.L
Soccer Aid for Unicef is back!
On Sunday 16th June the world’s biggest charity football match is happening at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge ground.
This is when a star-studded line up of football legends and celebrities, battle it out on the pitch to raise money so children can grow up happy, healthy and able play – just like children should.
Around the world, poverty, hunger and disease are disrupting playtime for millions of children. Soccer Aid for Unicef is defending play for every child. This is something we feel very strongly about and a very topical subject right now as the Fifa Women’s World Cup is happening, the England team playing Scotland on Sunday. Also, with England Men’s team loosing a friendly against the Netherlands last night!
Our children love football and the goal posts in the garden have been tried and tested. We have been looking at a range of connected learning themes around this area, including scores, numbers and positions, team kits, rules, even the water being drunk at half time links in with UNICEF I have a right to water.
We will be raising money for this cause by selling raffle tickets and having a football kit/badge day. There may be a penalty shoot out and hopefully lots of Mexican waves from the spectators.
