Rights Respecting Schools

Rights Respecting Schools

UNICEF leads on the UN Convention on the rights of the child.
For our school this means we will introduce our children to fundamental human rights that we believe they are entitled to.  We base this around the values we have chosen as being essential for our children to be: CURIOUS, VALUED, COMMUNICATIVE,CONFIDENT, SECURE and INDEPENDENT.
Making 2,3 and 4yr olds understand the specific rights we are focussing on has to be approached in a range of ways to suit each learner. We try to make this a fun and interesting programme of work so it becomes a piece of lifelong learning.

Every child has the right to survival, protection and education. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is a legally-binding international agreement setting out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of every child, regardless of their race, religion or abilities.
